Our history
The Groupe Richer adventure began in 1962 under the name Gazons Fairlawn. Jean-Guy Richer, a pioneer in cultivated sod, spread his passion across Quebec.
In the 1980s, his son Robert took over the reins and led the company through rapid growth.
Setting the standard for over 60 years.
Father and son made a significant mark, notably through their contribution to the creation of Quebec's first sod research centre and as suppliers for the 1976 Olympic Games.
In the 1990s and 2000s, the family business demonstrated unrivalled proactivity by acquiring innovative equipment, introducing sustainable farming practices, hiring an agronomist, and diversifying its services.

With the arrival of a third generation, Groupe Richer is continuing to build on this momentum. Julien and Gabriel coordinate operations and focus their efforts on development while remaining very active in the field.
Both have one goal: to pass on fertile land and strong entrepreneurial values to the next generation through sustainable practices.
